About
Dear Mr. So and So,
People communicate all the time. In our modern age, most of this communication is done through cellphones, text messages, emails…something digital. Then, there is the lost art of the letter. Be it between friends, lovers, family, a sea captain and a friendly hotel clerk back home, the letter is at once both formal and informal. The letter, with its ability to delve deeply into topics that may be too taboo to say face-to-face, is the way we peer into the private lives of its authors. It’s also a great vessel for comedy.
Tim and Mike write Dear Mr. So and So. The format is simple: we will post a correspondence between two characters, played by Tim and Mike. This correspondence is written by one of them, then built upon by the other in the next letter, and so on.
The first letter of every correspondence is created by getting a random word from a Random Word Generator to serve as inspiration. Then, whatever the hell this made Tim or Mike think of is shaped into a letter and posted. From there, each new letter builds these characters’ hopefully humorous lives.
There is no limit to how long a communique between two characters will last. Well, the limit is once the funny runs out. Once Tim and/or Mike write something, and then go “ummmm, yeah, this ran its course” to each other. So check back often! You never know when new characters may come afoot!
Dear Mr. So and So will be updated twice a week: on Tuesday and Thursday. We hope to see you again very soon.
With all the Love in Our Hearts,
Tim and Mike
